BFARM: New Access Management Tooling
BFARM (Business-Focused Access Rights Management) project is a Proximus-wide initiative to roll out the SailPoint IdentityIQ solution. It simplifies access to business applications for employees, contractors, partners, and subsidiaries, while reinforcing Proximus Security Governance.
As of today, BFARM has been fully deployed and is actively supporting our daily access management operations. The migration has already been completed for several thousands of users, including our external call centers and fiber contractors. These users now rely on BFARM daily to request access, approve requests, monitor team access, search for identities, and more.
Core principles of BFARM
BFARM is built around the concept of Business Roles – predefined sets of access rights tailored to specific teams or user groups. This role-based approach minimizes the need for individual access requests and ensures users receive the appropriate access more quickly and securely.
Key benefits
- Fewer access requests and approvals
- Faster onboarding and operational readiness
- Greater visibility into assigned access rights
- Clearer and more informative email notifications
What’s next
We are preparing to onboard additional teams, with the goal of migrating half of the Proximus community by the end of this year, and the remainder in 2026.
In parallel, we are initiating the application onboarding phase, which involves migrating from our legacy IAM system to the new SailPoint-based solution.
Our long-term objective is to fully retire from our legacy IAM system by the end of 2028.
